Overview

Tacos El Cacheton stands as a humble yet vibrant Mexican eatery tucked along 4518 Rosecrans Ave in Compton, CA. Known primarily for its street-style tacos, this spot draws a steady flow of locals who crave authentic, flavorful bites without the fuss of a formal dining experience. The main attraction lies in their carne asada tacos—grilled fresh, generously portioned, and wrapped in warm, soft tortillas that complement the savory, well-seasoned meat. Regulars appreciate the balance of bold flavors despite occasional saltiness, while the salsa bar adds a refreshing dimension with tangy cucumber and citrus notes, enhancing each taco bite.

The menu extends beyond tacos to include quesadillas filled with cabeza or asada, offering a satisfying option for those wanting richer, heartier fare. For dessert, the attached Churreria Victoriano elevates the experience with freshly made churros and other sweet treats like fried Oreos, all crafted with care and topped with indulgent sauces that linger on the palate.

The atmosphere is decidedly casual, with its proximity to a gas station and the informal setup reflecting the essence of a street food stop. While the space isn't designed for lingering, the clean and organized environment makes it inviting for quick lunches or late snacks. This is a place for those who prioritize taste and authenticity over ambiance—perfect for workers, locals, and anyone passing through Compton seeking genuine Mexican street flavors at approachable prices.

Overall, Tacos El Cacheton delivers a straightforward, satisfying experience rooted in traditional Mexican street food culture. It’s a destination where hearty portions, fresh ingredients, and lively flavors coalesce, making it a worthy spot for taco aficionados and dessert lovers alike to revisit time and again.

Gone here twice now, I'd go back again. When you want a quick and kinda cheap street taco with good amounts of meat and it's flavorful, then this is a good place to go to. You will get the occasional fat piece but it's a $2.50 taco . I give it a solid 7.7/10 just based on other taco trucks, not restaurant quality tacos.

The place is called Churreria Victoriano. it's a place I believe owned by the taco stand and they make fresh churros, fresh mini pancakes and fresh fried Oreos. I got the churros for $8 I believe there was about nine churros. I took two toppings lechero and caramel. I must say it was off the hook I would highly recommend for you guys to go to this place

I drive by this place every day to and from work. I finally had the opportunity to experience the food. I ordered 4 tacos de azada. Their is always a line of people waiting there. It is a very comfortable set up and the area is clean. I added lime and salsa to the tacos and tasted the meat. It is really good food. The tortilla is soft and warm. I enjoyed and will return next chance I get. They sell quesadillas of which I will devour next time.

It's a lunch truck in Compton next to a gas station so the atmosphere to eat there is as expected not great: however, the food is really good, fresh grilled carne asada. The meat is seasoned well but a bit salty. The salsa bar is good and has a lot of cucumber, lemon and salt for you to indulge while waiting for your food.
